Exactly, Anon. Exactly. This is why the Ivy League Universities being turned into Hamasnik terrorist bases is so horrifying. Especially with Jew-hating students attacking Jewish students and professors on campus, with the Universities' sanction. The Universities could shut these Jew-hate riots down. After Adolf Hitler was appointed German Chancellor in January 1933, the new Nazi government began an effort to completely reorder public and private life in Germany. 

The Nazi regime quickly targeted German universities—among the most elite in the world at the time—for restructuring according to Nazi principles. While the Nazi Ministry of Education initiated reforms, local Nazi organizations and student activists worked to bring Nazi ideals to German campuses. These forces, along with increasing antisemitism under Nazi rule, transformed everyday life at German universities. Throughout this period, students, faculty, and staff made individual decisions that both upheld and opposed Nazi ideology.

With the passage of the "Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service" in 1933, most Jewish professors in Germany were dismissed from their positions. Others, such as Professor Eugen Mittwoch, were able to keep their posts temporarily only due to the political value of their research. After purging Jewish and "politically undesirable" faculty, the regime then targeted the student body with the "Law Against Overcrowding in Schools and Universities." As German authorities continued to "Aryanize" German universities, Jews increasingly lost the opportunity to teach or study. Many non-Jewish Germans sought to benefit from their persecution. 

The daily business of university life continued in the wake of these new policies, but political concerns increasingly influenced the way professors and students worked and studied. The practice of denunciation, as demonstrated by the "Request for the Investigation of Professor Hans Peters," illustrates the danger posed to both students and faculty if they failed to follow new ideological norms. Those willing to voice support for the new regime—whether out of enthusiasm or practicality—often received promotions or other rewards. Meanwhile, many others quietly accepted the new policies and passively benefited from the persecution of their Jewish peers. Very few, such as the small student group in Munich known as the White Rose, took any significant action to resist the Nazi dictatorship.

The Nazi government and its supporters manipulated several aspects of the country's traditional university system to turn German higher education into a crucial source of support for the new regime. For example, the German student population had been largely male long before the Nazi rise to power, and German campuses were dominated by fraternities.  Those organizations maintained traditional military discipline and dress codes, and their alumni groups exercised significant political power both before and after 1933. Fraternities—often working with the Student Council and Nazi Student League—served  as a powerful and violent force for implementing Nazi principles at universities, often going beyond the party platform in their radicalism. A Report on the Camaraderie House for Female Students of Göttingen shows how Nazi student groups used the format of traditional student organizations to train both men and women to become the next generation of Nazi leaders.

Although the regime could rely on many committed student activists, the Third Reich also sought the support of German professors to lend legitimacy to their policies. Because German universities were state institutions, professors' academic careers became vulnerable to the whims and wishes of the Nazi state. While only a small minority of professors had been Nazi Party members before 1933, several prominent professors quickly voiced their support for the Third Reich. In the new German university, political loyalty was valued over academic ability in the assessment of students and in the selection and promotion of professors. Authorities infused university classrooms with Nazi ideology—as shown in the document, "Foundation of the Advanced School of the German Reich". But prioritizing politics over academics affected the quality of German higher education. 

Nevertheless, professors—even enthusiastic supporters of the new regime—often spoke out against some aspects of Nazi policy. The case of Eduard Kohlrausch shows how his opposition to  student-led book burnings caused his removal from the university administration. Dissent against individual policies, however, did not give rise to any concerted resistance movements. German universities as a whole formed a solid base of support for the Nazi regime, contributing valuable knowledge to the development of technology for the war effort as well as logistical support for the Holocaust.

The Nazification of universities overwhelmed the daily lives of students with new requirements, including mandatory lectures, physical exercises, labor duties, and political assemblies. Many students resented those requirements, even if they supported the Nazi Party. In Heidelberg, for example, where the daily life of students was dominated by political instruction and mandatory physical training, large numbers of students withdrew from the university in search of other educational opportunities. As illustrated in the "Memo Regarding Maria-Elisabeth Koch," students also showed varying degrees of enthusiasm for the labor service that was often required of them in territories occupied by Nazi Germany.

The Nazi government's project of remaking German universities was broadly successful, but it produced unintended consequences. The quality of education suffered significantly as classes were regularly cancelled for political assemblies and students' schedules became filled with ideological and paramilitary training. Moreover, purging Jewish faculty deprived German universities of valuable expertise. Within a few years, many observers in Germany and abroad became deeply skeptical about the quality of German higher education in the Third Reich. Propaganda efforts such as the Carl Schurz tour for American professors and students—documented with a slickly produced video—did not prevent protest. The 550th-anniversary celebration of Heidelberg University met with opposition in Europe, even while prominent American universities such as Harvard accepted invitations.

With the defeat of the Third Reich in 1945, Allied forces occupying Germany began a long-term effort to remove the influence of Nazi ideology in German society. Many German academics who made significant contributions to the Nazi war effort fled to the United States, where they lived comfortable lives and their expertise was highly valued by American universities and the US military. In postwar Germany, many faculty and students who had benefited from the Nazis' discriminatory policies without being especially vocal or enthusiastic supporters of the regime sought to cast their dissent or their silence as forms of political resistance to obscure their own complicity. Although many Germans denied having supported the Nazi regime, antisemitism persisted in postwar Germany. The case of Hermann Budzislawski shows the difficulties encountered by the relatively few German Jews who decided to return to Germany after World War II.

Sources in this collection document the choices facing students and faculty pursuing their everyday lives in the shadow of Nazism and the Holocaust. Over the course of this period, as antisemitic discrimination escalated to mass murder, the higher education system proved to be a source of support—rather than opposition��to the party's project of remaking German society.

His callsign Nightfall is in reference to his preference to work in the dark – both literally and figuratively. It's also a play on the phrase "lights out", since his work is best described as "putting people to sleep." (Because he's an assassin-type. Get it?)

Took interest in guitar shortly after he turned six, right before his mom died. He didn't play for years after her death, but decided to pick it up again as a young adult.

Greatly resembles his father and the other men on his paternal side. He's been described as having his mother's eyes and some of her "softer" features, though. Absolutely built like a brick wall.

Jokes about having a lot of experience, has slept with maybe 3 people in his entire life – and, none since his capture in 2017. He's willing to date, but is incredibly reserved after that incident. He desperately needs someone who can ground him.

Born on September 17, 1993 in the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands, to Hendrik Scholten de Ridder and Johanna Scholten de Ridder, Emiel had a normal – if not privileged, thanks to his family's prominent histories – early childhood. From birth, he had a close relationship with his older sister, Mylène, who he quickly came to rely on for guidance and support.

In the late fall of 1999, when Emiel was only 6 years old, his mother was killed by enemies of his father originally seeking to hold her and the children hostage for ransom. This event, paired with the traumas he sustained over his years in the military, drove his father to "near insanity" as he became consumed with paranoia and grief. The rest of his and his sister's adolescence was defined by the trauma of his father's abuse; he subjected the siblings to rigorous physical and psychological training in order to mold them into "perfect soldiers" and prevent any further loss.

Despite this, his father was publicly viewed as a war hero. He would often leave the two alone when he was on deployment, forcing Mylène to care for herself and Emiel with nothing more than a roof over their heads and grocery money provided. The siblings developed an unbreakable bond during this time that would extend into their adulthoods, rendering them a synergic duo both at home and in the field, with Emiel promising to repay his sister for her efforts someday.

After finishing secondary school at 17, Emiel enlisted in the Royal Netherlands Army, serving in the Regiment Huzaren van Boreel in the 11 Air Assault Brigade. He also studied at the University of Amsterdam – taking online classes – and frequently visited his sister during her time in the 400 Medical Battalion, eventually graduating with a BA in Intelligence Studies. He spent 3 years participating in air assault and armored reconnaissance operations before passing selection for the Korps Commandotroepen in 2014, wherein he was quickly recognized for his natural skills in anything covert.

Specializing in sniper techniques, prime target elimination, VIP protection, demolitions, and sabotage, Emiel established himself as an elite operative who excels in hostile areas and hazardous environments. His exceptional accuracy and uncanny proficiency when operating in the shadows eventually earned him the nickname "Nightfall".

In early 2015, Nightfall joined his sister – now a KCT lieutenant nicknamed "Petra" – Captain Price of the British SAS, and Nikolai in an unsanctioned operation to kill or capture Chimera after the latter was discovered to be a traitor. The small team managed to track the Colonel and his supporters to a base deep in the Alps, where they successfully wiped out the entire group and killed Chimera. After the mission, much like his sister, Nightfall felt indebted to Price.

From then on, he continued to carry out covert and overt operations worldwide. Sometime in the next year, Nightfall managed to wipe out an entire base of Al-Qatala soldiers in one night without a single alarm being raised. The sole survivor referred to him as "The Reaper" when describing him, as he hunted every enemy whilst cloaked in darkness. Nightfall was later awarded the Military William Order, the Bronze Lion, and the Cross of Merit for both this operation and his following work within the KCT, establishing himself – or rather, his marksmanship – as a minor legend within the elite commando corps.

Another year later, around mid-2017, however, Nightfall was assigned to a unit led by Captain Price and Petra, tasked with infiltrating and securing an Al-Qatala base located in Kastovia. He served as the team’s scout sniper and overwatch during the mission, until he lost contact with the rest of the team. When the rest of the team finally reached his location to investigate, several IEDs planted in the area went off and forced the group to retreat. Despite his sister's attempts to rescue him, Nightfall was declared dead in absentia after demolition teams failed to locate his body the following day.

In reality, Nightfall was alive, being held as a prisoner of war by Al-Qatala’s commanders. The explosions caused him to lose one of his hands and left his face scarred. For the next two and a half years, Nightfall was interrogated, tortured, and subjected to inhumane conditions while imprisoned in Eastern Europe, though he still tried to support and protect the other POWs in the prison, regardless of which side they supported or whether they were civilian or military.

About a month after the formation of Task Force 141, CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell pinpointed the location of a prison in Georgia believed to be used by Al-Qatala to hold POWs. Reconnaissance of the prison confirmed this and the identity of several of the prisoners; Nightfall was identified as one of the POWs. His sister, leading an elite KCT unit, raided the location shortly thereafter, securing the captives, Nightfall, and intel about Al-Qatala's plans.

Following his rescue and intensive recovery in the hospital, Nightfall was deployed in Verdansk alongside other Coalition operatives under Armistice, where he relentlessly worked to prove himself once more.

As a valuable ally to the 141 and a near-fabled assassin with a long list of confirmed kills and countless unconfirmed, Nightfall has pledged his life and his very conscious to his work, his only saving grace being the characteristic pitch black masks obscuring his face every time he appears in the field – on the rare occasion he's visible, that is.

And it’s very hard to compare and find out what the “best” sexist view of women is, because they’re all sexist and essentially all stem from the same beliefs.

Even in the west sexist beliefs are very prevalent. That’s why under the headline about the Taliban taking away girls’ education, there’s a headline about European women’s “trend” of becoming trad wives. Is this the same? No. One group consists of terrorists controlling, and ruining young girls’ lives. The other group consists of young women ruining their own lives. However I do believe the two groups share some of the same beliefs about women and womanhood. And those two groups often don’t only differ in race, but also sex, nationality, sexuality, political opinions, age, upbringing, current life situation, probably everything.

Spitting into an ancient wind.

As someone who grew up during the Vietnam War protests of the 60s-70s, I find the antisemitic campus protests grimly, hilariously pathetic and ignorant.

Vietnam was an American war. Male students faced being drafted and sent to their deaths or to permanent psychological harm (I knew several Vietnam vets who, when they came back, were older students of my professor father). The protests were attempts to influence our politicians about our war, and to force universities to reject government funds until the war was ended.

The actual result was to turn the majority of Americans, who were sickened by the destruction of colleges and universities, against the anti-war movement, and they voted in Richard Nixon.

The war ended not because of the protests, but because our government finally admitted that the war was unwinnable. We shouldn't have been there in the first place -- it was another nation's war; they didn't give a fuck about what America thought or wanted -- but we were too deep into the Communist Domino Theory to stay out.

The Vietnam War protests should teach current students that trying to force our country to divest from companies that are invested in Israel in any form would have absolutely no influence on Israel. The tensions and hatred in the Middle East have been ongoing for over 2000 years. Whatever outcome this present clash has, it'll be temporary. In my own life I've seen more wars in the Middle East than I can count.

But this generation has the historical knowledge of a Mayfly.

American students are desperate for a sense of relevance. They want a Cause, a Movement, that makes them feel they have power and control, because this is the most aimless generation I've seen since I was born. Rather than protesting for a truly helpful cause, such as pressuring the American government to give us Universal Healthcare -- something that would help everyone, especially the poor -- they fight for men in dresses to be considered real women, and in support of terrorists who kidnapped old women and children and lethally attacked a nation.

The students have no leader and no organization, no more than the Occupy Wall Street Movement did. Remember that? Of course you don't. Because it shriveled and blew away once the participants realized they were being arrested, booked, and kicked out of college but still had to pay their student loans, and had no impact whatsoever on American economics.

Gen Z was lead to believe they have power because of the trans movement and Cancel Culture dug deep into Western nations, to the point that students could get a professor thrown out just for stating the biological fact that humans can't change sex.

So now the college protesters refuse to believe that they don't have one lick of strength against the Hamas-Israel war. What they're doing instead is inviting in and embracing known Islamic terrorists, whose particular version of Islam includes murdering women who deviate from their Laws and executing those Trans and Queers they love so much.

What their violence is going to achieve is turning the majority of America against them, who will then vote in a Republican President. Just like in 1968.

I watch these rudderless protests and just SMDH. These idiots are going to be kicked out of universities with no degree but massive debt, and a legal record which will alert possible employers to avoid them.

And their antisemitism will not serve them well out in the world. Unless they enjoy the company of Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. I feel sorry for the students who want to get an education and the university and college staff who want to do their jobs.

Disclaimer! I changed some stuff since the canon and honest hearts sucks. First I made Caesar trans because why not? I think it makes his character and ideology much more interesting. Also Joshua and Caesar were lovers and Vulpes is their biological son. Fox boy doesn’t know it. Pretty much everything else is the same tho.

Backstory:

He grew up in a vault separated from everything. (Yes I gave him the same backstory as the lone wanderer) He’s mean, holds grudges and has superiority complex towards most people of the wasteland. He views them as dirty and uncivilized. In the vault he received standard education and learned many useful skills that would later help him survive the outside world.

He left the vault few years before in the hopes of better life. He was a spoiled brat and had no idea how rough things would be outside.

His new focus in life is finding a place to stay and maybe have a stable life at some point.

During the game:

He’s a petty person and wants to destroy the Strip because of Benny. The fact that one bullet was enough to fuck up his brain and steal his memories makes him furious. Helps the Omertans with their little terrorist attack as well as returns the White gloves to cannibalism.

Other fun things his done: blow up the brotherhoods bunker, sold Arcade to legion, got everyone killed in Sierra Madre, nuked NCR etc.

Fighting is something he tries to avoid, but not because he’s a pacifist. He’s just a coward and knows most people could kick his ass in combat. His extremely lucky to be alive.

NCR has declared him a terrorist, Mr House is dead and he’s too lazy to go with the yes man route so Legion was the only option for him. He’s quite curious about their ideology since he has no home, family, friends or anything left. He hopes to find purpose for his life there.

Most companions don’t like him at all and Boone, Arcade and Veronica hate him. Raul is the only one willing to tolerate his bs. Oh and Julius won’t travel with Lilly since he’s afraid of mutants. But he’s okay with Cass, Rex and ED-E.

Caesar sees him as useful pawn so he gives the courier a new name and purpose. He’s seen as a helpful outsider (and a degenerate) by most of the Legion but they tolerate him. Vulpes is assigned to protect and make sure courier stays loyal.

During his time serving in Legion Julius ends up visiting Nelson quite often and meets someone very special to him. He’s lonely and traumatized man looking for comfort and Dead sea sees him as an opportunity to move up the ranks. I mean if Caesar likes this new guy so surely sleeping with him would be beneficial, right? Well not exactly, after Caesar figures out why courier is so eager to visit Nelson as often as possible he makes sure to remove Dead sea permanently.

Dead sea is killed and Julius is told his lover was promoted and send to another outpost. Thinking his lover has abandoned him Julius doesn't question what he’s told. He has no reason to doubt Caesar.

After the break up with Dead sea Julius is more focused on his newly found career and doesn't start new relationships with anyone. Vulpes is fully aware of what actually happened to Dead sea but he won’t talk, he has no reason to question Caesar’s decisions.

Caesar is a dying man with god complex and in his head the courier and Vulpes are meant to be the future leaders of the Legion. (Just like he and Joshua were supposed to be) Vulpes is his flesh and blood after all, and the courier caries the same anger and pain as he does. Surely these two would be a good choice to lead semi-militaristic cult.

As long as Julius gets to enjoy the benefits of being favored by Caesar he’s very loyal. However if he ever stopped receiving the special treatment he wouldn't hesitate to stab Caesar in the back. And if he ever found out what happened to Dead sea, he would kill Caesar.

The only time he ever considered running away was during his final delievery job. He was told to find the burned man and give him letter written by Caesar. Julius was nosy so he read the letter with Vulpes and they found out who fox bois parents were. Caesar wrote the letter because he thought he was going to die and wanted to say goodbye to his former best friend and lover. (I hate honest hearts so I changed it.)

After Hoover dam:

Julius helped Caesar with the tumor problem and was in front lines during the battle for Hoover dam. He gained good reputation and respect among the Legion. And since Legion has very cult like mentality, the courier was viewed as almost religious figure after all he’d done. Caesar saw this as an opportunity and against his wishes, Julius was forced to take even bigger role in Legion.

His new ”job” or rank would require him to works as an ambassador and convince as many people as possible that Legion was the right choice. The education he received in the vault and his somewhat charismatic personality made him a convincing preacher. At some point he started believing what he was saying, maybe Caesar really was the son of Mars and maybe what they were doing was right.

Eventually all the violence and destruction he saw in the following years took it’s toll. There was no courier anymore, only Julius who was created by Caesar was left. Vulpes stayed by his side all those years as a loyal guard dog. Their relationship was close but not romantic.

Due to his desperate need for a home and family, he had accepted his role in Legion and started spreading the word of Caesar through the wasteland. Where he went the air smelled of decay, ground would burn and turn into ashes.

Julius started slowly becoming more and more deranged with his preaching and used brutal ways of converting and executing those who refused to obey. The story of the burned man had stick with him and it became his signature way of execution. It was the price of his own freedom.

8 years after the battle of Hoover dam, Caesar died and Vulpes was supposed to become the new Caesar. However not everyone was happy with the new leader so Lanius challenged him to a fight in the arena. Vulpes got destroyed. The next problem was Julius and his followers. Lanius saw them as a threat so the logical decicion was to order his execution.

Julius had collected decent following during his time as a preacher and his fanatic followers were willing to die for him. In the end Lanius got what he wanted and Julius was crucified at the same place as Benny was. Most of his followers were either crucified or burned alive.

After the couriers death some of the legionnaires continued spreading his story around the campfire. The people who witnessed Julius burning down towns and commit crimes in the name of Caesar also remembered him in their ghost stories.

The Legion fell apart few years after Caesar's death and the land could start healing.

(I got tired of trans characters always being victims or pure saints so I wanted to make something else. Sorry this was a mess.)

No i haven't seen a homeless person take aggression or special forces against police ...that's not my experience at all....its more jobs...if people will stare at homeless people and say their going to fuck them over then it's more jobs that figure out how to kill off anywhere homeless people have to go....jail is more sane sometimes then domestic abuse or street conflict so...to me the riots are about territorialism not poverty

A longtime Madison Metropolitan School District educator has been placed on leave and is under both school district and police investigation after allegedly pushing, punching and pulling hair out of the head of an African American 11-year-old girl at Whitehorse Middle School last week, Madison365 has learned.

The girl’s mother, Mikiea Price, said she has seen security video of the February 13 incident, which she said shows Rob Mueller-Owens, 52, throwing her daughter to the ground and punching her before another teacher covers the girl with her own body to protect her.

“As a District we take any situation of this nature very seriously,” MMSD Representative Rachel Strauch-Nelson said in a statement. “All of our students need to be safe and supported in school, and we have a thorough investigation process and protocol that we follow. While we cannot talk about the details of a specific student or personnel situation, it is our responsibility to consider all of the facts of the situation and determine the right next steps.

“The staff person was put on leave while the situation was investigated. Based on that investigation, the staff person will not return to Whitehorse Middle School, and we are determining next steps. In addition, our team is coming together to create a full support plan to ensure that students are safe and fully supported at school.”

Mueller-Owens is the seventh educator to be caught up in racial incidents at Madison schools since November 1. Four teachers and two substitutes have been terminated or forced to resign after using racial slurs in class over the last three and a half months. Additionally, in Middleton, a school bus driver was terminated last fall for striking a black child and a high school teacher resigned after using a racial slur in class.

Price, herself a substitute teacher in the district for the past five years, told Madison365 in an exclusive interview that her daughter, a sixth-grader at Whitehorse Middle School, called her last Wednesday and was clearly upset.

“She was just like … crying and extremely upset,” Price said. “I could tell, like by the way she was crying and talking, that something traumatic had just happened.” She said her daughter told her, “Mr. Rob hurt me,” referring to Mueller-Owens.

Price said she immediately went to the school where three adults were speaking with her daughter about what had happened.

“She was crying and her lip was cracked, bleeding, and she handed me three of her braids that were pulled out from her scalp,” Price said.

Price said a classroom teacher had called on Mueller-Owens, who is dean of students and was acting principal that day, because Price’s daughter and another student had sprayed too much perfume or body spray on themselves and each other. When Mueller-Owens asked the girl to leave the room, she initially refused, and things apparently escalated.

“When he came in, he asked (my daughter) to step out and she didn’t listen, and didn’t step out and as he walked toward her, she said she went toward the window and just wasn’t following direction, and he told her in front of the whole class, to the teacher, ‘Take the class somewhere else,’” Price said. “And (my daughter) said, ‘No, that’s fine. They can stay, I’ll go.’ And as she was heading out, she said he pushed (her) with two hands trying to push her out the classroom, and she turned around and said, ‘Don’t put your hands on me.’ And he pushed her again … and she said he started punching her.”

She said the video, which she reviewed on Friday along with her mother, as well as Pastor Marcus Allen of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Urban League of Greater Madison CEO Ruben Anthony, did not capture what happened in the classroom but does show what happened in the hallway.

“I didn’t see the punching but on the actual video that I was able to review on Friday from the school district, I did see him throwing her down,” Price said. “And you see another teacher that I also spoke with that said that she had to lay on top of (my daughter) to prevent her from getting hit or punched.”

Strauch-Nelson said the school district intends to release the video later this week, after police conclude their investigation. Madison365 has not viewed the video but has requested to do so. Allen corroborated Price’s account of the video to Madison365. Allen also said the man in the video resembles a photo of Mueller-Owens, and that in meetings, school district staff had referred to the man as “Rob.”

Price said she called police on Wednesday, and followed up on Friday after viewing the video to ask why Mueller-Owens had not been arrested.

“The police told me that I said that I didn’t want to press charges, and that’s not true. I never said that. That’s the whole point of me calling the police,” Price said. “I told (the police officer) I wanted to press charges, and when I told him that he turned around and told me (Monday), if I press charges on the teacher than my daughter is facing charges as well for disorderly conduct.”

Madison Police Department spokesman Joel Despain declined to comment because the investigation is ongoing.

“I know those investigating want to talk with more school staff members before reaching conclusions,” Despain said in an email to Madison365 Tuesday morning, and Wednesday said officers were still looking to interview more witnesses.

Mueller-Owens’ public persona is that of an educator committed to positive behavior reinforcement and restorative justice, and he seems to have positive connections with many community leaders.

On his Facebook page, which has now been deleted or hidden, Mueller-Owens listed his title as “Director of Culture and Climate” at Madison Metropolitan School District. His LinkedIn profile lists his current position as Positive Behavior Support Coach and Coordinator of Academic and Career Planning. Online records indicate he started as a teacher at Malcolm Shabazz City High School in 2000 and a Teacher/Coordinator at the Transition Learning Center from 2008-2014. He then moved to East High School, where from August 2014 until June 2015 he was Positive Behavioral Specialist and held “community-building circles regularly,” as part of his approach “in which participants are guided in candid, confidential discussion,” to help strengthen student-teacher relationships according to an MMSD article where his work on restorative circles was amplified. He was later Interim Assistant Principal at Madison West before moving to Whitehorse in November 2017. Most recent public State records indicate he earned $93,303 per year in that role.

The Capital Times reported that he attended a conference on “Rethinking School Discipline” with MMSD Superintendent Jennifer Cheatham and Elementary Schools Chief Nancy Hanks in 2015. In a 2016 Q&A with Madison Magazine, he touted the virtues of restorative justice as a means of school discipline.

“Healing happens in a relationship, and that is what we often miss,” he said in that interview. “There are incredible demands placed on teachers, and most non-teachers do not understand the emotionally grueling work that every teacher experiences on a daily basis. The real power of restorative practices (which include circles, restorative dialogues and mediation) is that they are all predicated upon restoring meaningful relationships so that common goals can be accomplished. In our setting, that common goal happens to be education.”

Just last November, he told online news site Madison Commons that greater understanding of cultural differences is required when it comes to school discipline.

“The dominant culture lacks an understanding of how other cultures interact with each other,” Mueller-Owens said in that article. “Sometimes there are different ways of working together. And those differences allow for those disparities to exist. We need to work together more often. There is a lot of misunderstanding in Madison about diverse cultural ways of being.”

Price said Mueller-Owens’ background just means he should have known better.

“If he has all that training, why would you approach that and why, when a kid told you don’t touch me, why did you come and meet them with more force?” she said.

“It’s very frustrating, you know,” Price said. “Even as a mom, like I can’t protect her. This is an educator. This is not a kid that jumped on her. And you’ve got to be patient and talk to the parents. This is an educator.” 

Whitehorse Middle School, near Olbrich Park on Madison’s east side, has a student body that is 46 percent white and 21 percent Black. Overall, MMSD is about 42 percent white and 17 percent Black.

Widowed, she raise her twin son and daughter; Noah and Lila, by herself. Married to her late husband Ezekiel in early age of 20s, she had to give up with educations and future to have a family. But when their children were 2, her husband was killed in the terror attack during his days of business trips caused by White Supremacist Terrorists, she took more than two jobs to raise her children. Despite not graduated the university or college, she has a gifted talented in cooking and sewing. Thus, temporarily worked as cafeteria lady in Eden College, then later as personal seamstress for Becky Blackbell who admires her dresses. Noah and Lila Erza (soon becomes Noah and Lila Wilmer) are children of Esther, living as Forger's neighbors, the twins are Anya's close friends. As their mother work 2 or 3 jobs, the twins had each other and weren't able to spend a lot time with their mother. When they were 5, they encounter SSS Head Lieutenant Archibald Wilmer who was offered to stay in their house by Esther. Soon, they quickly view him as their father figure through times he helped them. They are always overjoyed to see him every time he visit even after they moved to Berlint. When they become friends with Anya, they have grown curious about Eden College and wish to attend the same school with her. Fortunately, when their mother remarried to Archibald, they were able to attend Eden as they become close with Becky who loves their mother's dresses.

Noah is a rather intelligent boy who has passion for botany and herbs, wishes to grow enormous garden filled with them. Even though during the beginning days in school as students occasionally picked on him for being an Esiophian Judin, his enthusiasm and friendly aura is contagious. Soon, he becomes one of the few who is aware of Damian's crush on Anya.

Lila is a bright spunky girl who loves Spy Wars, like Anya, and enjoys all the hobbies that aren't "girl-oriented". Because of this as one of factors, she was often ridiculed by the kids in Eden. But she was beautiful as her mother, she gained a lot of friends. Among Damian's "goons", she gets along with Ewen the most as both share good intelligence and the passion for studying atmospheric science and constellations.

Archibald Wilmer is the head Lieutenant of State Security Service in Ostania, comrade of Yuri Briar and eventual second husband of Esther, making him a stepfather to Noah and Lila. Born from influential military family as his father Didier Wilmer was of rank General and his mother Eloise was head nurse. It was expected for him to become a military officer. In tender age of 18, he entered the Reich Military where Ostania and Westalis were in war as his country was under the reign of dictator. Trained as killing machine, he killed both soldiers and innocents when ordered. But remorseful, he used his connections with other loyal comrades to help war prisoners (including Westalis soldiers) to escape. Children and their family who were in "Angele Facility" were no exception. As the war ended, he was recruited by SSS and since then he was helping immigrants to settle in Ostania while he continues to repent his sins. Suffering from PTSD and depression, he often thought of ending his own life...until he met Esther Erza during his community service in her village. Taken back by her beauty and kindness, he bonded with her children Noah and Lila. When the family was to move to Berlint, he helped them settle down and often escorted her to city hall or somewhere she needed to go for her employment. 

While he admit in secrecy he loves her, the dark shadow of his past fears would suffocate him. However, when Esther defended him from jealous SSS officer with her belief he is a good man, he become determined to protect her and her children. Aware of his love for her, Erza twins, Becky and Anya concocted matchmaking plans to set them together. Eventually, Archibald and Esther got married. Surprisingly, Archibald is first person to be AWARE of Loid's identity as WISE agent Twilight (because he saw the SAME WISE LOGO BADGE on Loid and certain places where it was discreetly signaled to the said spy). However, Archibald pretended he didn't know as he decided to see whether Loid would either choose family or his job when the Operation Strix is over. On the other hand, WISE view Archibald as one of the potential danger due to his excelled fighting skills of strength that can crush gun with bare hands. The running gags are every time Yuri is in crazed state of obsession over his own sister Yor or on the verge to "execute" Loid, Archibald would punch him or knocked him unconscious to prevent any disastrous shenanigans before apologizing to both.

Assata Shakur - an Autobiography

1. She changes her name from “JoAnne Deborah Chesimard" to “Assata Shakur” 

2. Starts referring to her wyt name as her "slave name".

3. Joins the BPP and BLA. Shortly after J. Edgar Hoover ordered the forty-one FBI offices to intensify their efforts “to expose, disrupt, misdirect, discredit, and otherwise neutralize” Black nationalist organizations and their leaders. 

4. Gets pulled over for a minor offense (defective taillight), in New Jersey Turnpike.

5. Assata was shot in the back 2 times, (once with her hands up) paralyzing her arm, making her unable to hold a gun, yet the police insisted that she shot and killed an officer. 

6. By the time she was shot and captured on May 2, 1973, she was wanted for a number of manufactured serious crimes, non of which led to her conviction or sentencing by the court due to insufficient evidence. 

7. After being shot by police, she was transferred to hospital where she was subjected to forced interrogation and physical and psychological torture by variety of government agencies such as police and FBI. 

8. They staged fake court in the hospital while she was tied to the stretcher.

9. She recalls the 3 books that a nurse smuggled for her in the hospital: A book of Black poetry, another one "Black Woman in White America", and Hermann Hesse's "Siddhartha". How she read the poetry book out loud to protest her torture and prison inside the hospital. 

10. She talks about her upbringing in the racist apartheid amerikkkan South. Education was completely empty, where they only learned to read and write, but never learned about the history of black oppression. 

“(When we learned history, we were never taught the real reasons for things. We were just taught useless trivia, simplistic facts, key phrases, and miscellaneous, meaningless dates.) I couldn’t understand it. What were people all the way in amerika doing in a war because some prince got killed in Austria? I could just imagine going home and telling my grandmother that i got in a fight because some dude in Europe got killed.”

She described that later she learned that 1776 amerikkkan revolution, was a revolution for the freedom of whites only. They were told that Blacks were not fighting back against slavery. They didn't learn about black revolutionaries such as Denmark Vesey, Gabriel Prosser, Cinque, and Nat Turner. She was taught at school that George Washington never told a lie, yet the reality is that not only he was a big lier, but once he sold a slave for a keg of rum. Same with Lincoln. among the most common lies are that Lincoln freed the slaves, that the Civil War was fought to free the slaves: 

“The day i found out about Nat Turner I was affected so strongly it was physical. I was so souped up on adrenalin i could barely contain myself. I tore through every book my mother had. Nowhere could i find the name Nat Turner” (2)

Finally, she gets convicted in 1977 by an all white jury of murdering a New Jersey State trooper, although no physical evidence indicated that she had been the shooter, Chesimard’s trial had been widely covered in the African American press as a symbol of police and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) efforts to suppress Black radical movements. 12. In the book, Shakur mildly criticizes Huey Newton's strategy of drawing the battle line between Panthers and police at the Panther offices across the United States. Shakur seems to be puzzled on Huey's notion of guerrilla warfare. 

13. In November 1979, she escapes a high security male prison with the help of BLA and seeks political asylum in Cuba until today.

14. She is the first women on FBI most wanted list, and later on the terrorist list with a renewed reward of 2 million Dollars. In 2016 New Jersey state claimed that she is a threat to US government. Former FBI director Louis Freeh reported that the FBI offered five Cuban spies that were being held in Florida in exchange for Assata Shakur and the deal was totally rejected. "In 1977 I was convicted in a trial that can only be described as a legal lynching. In 1979 I was able to escape with the aid of some of my fellow comrades. I saw this as a necessary step, not only because I was innocent of the charges against me, but because I knew that [in] the racist legal system in the United States I would receive no justice. I was also afraid that I would be murdered in prison. I later arrived in Cuba where I am currently living in exile as a political refugee. (4)

15. Newsday reporter Ron Howell published the first interview with Shakur "On the Run With Assata Shakur" after her arrival in Cuba, confirming her presence and providing the first public glimpse into her life in Cuba. She contributed to the anti-racism and cultural education within the cuban government.

Although most foreign asylees studied at the University of Havana, the article reported the unusual claim that Shakur was studying politics, sociology and philosophy at the Escuela Superior del Partido, a system of colleges run directly by the Cuban Communist Party and populated by its members, with whom she would soon collaborate with as a political advisee. “She is clearly trusted by the Cubans,” wrote Howell, an observation that would prove prescient of the coming years as Shakur worked closely with the central committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and as an intermediary between the government and visiting American delegations...By the mid-1990s, Shakur had become a regular face at cultural and political events in Havana. Now fluent in Spanish and highly respected by Cuban officials, Shakur worked closely with the Central Committee of Cuba’s communist party,  (1)

16. Tupac Shakur was Assata's godson. Tupac himself was named after Tupac Amaru (the last monarch Sapa Inca of the Neo-Inca State, the remnants of the Inca Empire in Vilcabamba, Peru, who was executed by the Spanish Colonizers). I Also read the semi-fictional book "T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E." by Sanyika Shakur. Towards the end of the book when the main character's aunt (A panther) is telling him about his family tree and blood line, she briefly mentions the story of Assata.

The good: 

Skam España set up Amira’s crush on Dani (and Dani’s crush on Amira) in s2 and, regardless of how it ends, they are following through with that storyline, instead of dropping it like a hot potato.

The bad: 

Okay, so first off I have to say I’ve never vibed with Lucas Nabor (Dani)’s acting. And by never I truly do mean never, as in the first day of Cris’ season, I found the way Lucas N played Dani in the confrontation with Cris after they get home extremely cringy. This was way before I could’ve ever dreamed that Skam España would whitewash Yousef’s character and turn him into a white character. 

So, for me, it’s not just an issue of whitewashing (which is already bad enough on a show with no meaningful male characters of color), but eskam pairing one of my favorite Skams character ever with the character I like the least for acting reasons.

But I figured eskam wouldn’t really have the audacity to whitewash a love interest and not give us a Yousef of color in another form. Just like the way we got that 5-second glimpse of Lucas Rubio hooking up with a boy named Iván in the s2 finale, so people could see the male Isak had also found an Even, or the way we got a full season of Miquel being the abusive boyfriend that Spanish viewers saw William as, but for Noorhelm fans, Alejandro still got to be Nora’s endgame. 

And so, when Sofian in the trailer was blatantly posited as a love interest, juxtaposed with shots of Dani with the same expression and filmed from the same angle, I thought, “Okay, so Amira will have an additional love interest who is actually Moroccan, and he’ll probably be around much less (like Iván in s2 and Alejandro in s3), but he’ll be the endgame.” 

Like... Never in my wildest nightmares would I have thought that Skam España would take... idefk... Lito from Skam and turn him into a full fledged character who’d play the fuck out of Amira and attempt to talk her into bearding. 

When Kasim was introduced and people immediately noticed the look between Lucas and Kasim, I thought, “no fucking way Skam España would pull an Elite.” WHEN, when has Skam España looked towards Elite for inspiration before? Not even just to “fix” Elite storylines and turn them into good storylines. Elite and Skam España have never existed in the same sphere or tried to do the same things or impacted each other.

When the spoilers came out, I thought back to the time in s3 when the same hackers said that Alejandro would hit Miquel with a bottle. At the time, I heard of the Alejandro spoilers and wondered to myself, “is this something Skam España would ever do?” And I thought nah, no way, Skam España has never been concerned with toxic masculinity or romanticized it. And I was right! 

So I did the same thing with these spoilers, and I was SO SURE that I had understood the show, that I had understood what Skam España had been trying to do all these three seasons, that Skam España was so disinterested in men as a whole that they’d never try something so complex with either Dani (a conversion storyline) or Kasim (a closeted storyline). Both of those storylines are storylines Skam España gives to GIRLS. Because men in eskam have always been more about what they symbolize for the girls, than their own entities. And I liked that! So, on that level I feel betrayed, because Skam España had been telling it was one thing for three seasons, until in s4 they decided Amira didn’t deserve the same treatment as all the other mains, where she doesn’t get to be by far the most complex character in her own season. (I’m not saying Amira isn’t complex - she is. She is the most complex Sana and the most nuanced.) 

There are a couple things that gave me a bad vibe about this season from the start: one was the fact that Kasim wasn’t introduced in episode 1. Skam España always introduces the characters that are significant for the main in episode 1, so for Kasim to not show up in episode 1, that was a sign. The other one was that Skam España gave the bonus clips to Alejandro. This is a show that refused to give Lucas bonus clips in s2, because his experience as a gay boy just wasn’t relevant to Cris. Not in the same Viri’s experience was relevant to Nora. And suddenly, Alejandro (and not Nora) gets the bonus clips in a season about Amira? Like, it was just fucking weird. It is weird as shit that a show that has always gleefully centered the female experience to the detriment of the male experience, would decide in their Muslim woc season, that it was time for the whitest, straightest, cisgenderedest, richest character on the show to be the first one to get some focus.

Because Sana seasons across the board have underperformed compared to the seasons that came before them (because of racism and islamophobia in Europe), I thought that maybe Movistar had decided to lean on the romance a bit more heavily this season, in order to make it seem more appealing. Kinda makes sense, no? We’re tired of seeing straight white girl seasons, so making Nora’s season lean a bit more on the educational side of Skam isn’t a risk. People will still tune in. But a Sana season is a bit of a harder sell, so we have to sweeten the deal with romcom tropes and all the other couples in the show making out and about to have sex, to make up for Amira not getting those scenes. I thought I could live with that.

But like, there’s adding some background fanservice from established couples and then there’s this monstrosity that leans into EVERY islamophobic Muslim trope ever (because it’s super commercial and high stakes drama and excitingggggg). Like, in Western media, Muslim men are either oppressors (abusive, strict husbands who beat their wives and are terrorists or thugs or thieves) or oppressed (closeted gay boys who resort to extreme means, such as bearding or dealing drugs, in order to stay under the radar). They never get to be the leading love interest. I have never seen a Muslim man of color on Spanish TV be the male love interest, and especially not the love interest to a Muslim woman. And Skam España will be no different.

I also hope people understand the way it undermines literally every other thing they’re trying to do with the show. Amira already explained at length both her own stance towards gay people and Islam’s stance towards gay people, in s2 and her bonus video with Lucas. if you want to be a Muslim in good standing, you can be gay as long as you don’t act on it. But you can also be a Muslim who eats pork, or a Muslim who doesn’t fast in Ramadan, or a Muslim who doesn’t pray five times a day, because ultimately it’s about every individual’s relationship with Allah. To go back on this for a homophobic Muslims storyline undoes everything they did in s2. 

It also undermines Dounia as a character. Here’s a practicing Muslim who longs for a safe space, who doesn’t want to answer questions from non Muslims, who thinks it’s better not to even open the door to a relationship with a white non Muslim, and who’s really confident in all those decisions. And if you think the show isn’t setting her up to be confronted with the fact her brother doesn’t feel safe among Muslims, who prefers questions from non Muslims over telling the truth to Muslims, who has happily opened the door to a relationship with a white non Muslim, who thinks that Dounia is a homophobe in short, and that she will be made to reexamine all her beliefs because of her brother... I just don’t know what to say to you tbh.

And also, this clip made it seem like Amira’s Muslim world wouldn’t accept her crush on Dani, undoing everything the show has done until now. Dounia didn’t disapprove when Amira told her she had a crush on a white non Muslim. She understood and shared her experience. Amira’s mother knew about her crush on Dani and never tried to stop it, nor did she discourage it when Amira told her about it. Why is Skam España suddenly acting like Amira can’t tell anyone about her budding relationship with Dani, when every anon on tumblr dot com will tell you that relationships between Muslim women and Christian men happen all the time?

And finally, it just makes me reexamine previous Skam España seasons and wonder... Did they make Amira only start wearing hijab in the first day of s1 because they knew a character like Sana wouldn’t contemplate a relationship with a white character who makes islamophobic jokes, drinks and makes out with the Sana’s friends in front of her after specifically inviting her to a party? Did they make Amira the show’s Isak’s best friend just so they could whitewash Yousef? Was the whole purpose and trajectory of Amira on the show, everything they did with her, a justification for whitewashing one of the few positive men of color on Western TV? For refusing to show a Muslim girl in a happy relationship with a Muslim boy? To only portray and devote time to Muslim poc/white atheists relationships? (Amira’s parents not withstanding.) As if the most positive outcome for a Muslim person living in Europe is to marry a white atheist. That is what Skam España did to Sana’s season, to Sana, to the balloon squad.
